Editors & Reviewers

Editor's guide

The journal's editorial structure consists of an Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors and Editors, who together are responsible for its quality and operation.

Editor-in-Chief

  • Approves every article before it is published
  • Forms the editorial board and supervises the editors
  • Makes sure content follows the journal's guidelines
  • Rejects work where plagiarism or ghost-writing is suspected

Associate Editors

  • Check the technical quality of manuscripts before they reach the Editor-in-Chief
  • Keep to deadlines
  • See that manuscripts are clear and accurate
  • Respond promptly to complaints

Editors

  • Make clear editorial recommendations
  • Check factual correctness
  • Check grammar, spelling, figures and tables
  • Suggest changes to content where needed

Reviewer's guide

Peer review is double-blind. Reviewers are expected to:

  • hold a doctoral degree or equivalent qualification;
  • disclose conflicts of interest, and decline if they are affiliated with the authors;
  • reply promptly to invitations;
  • give constructive, concise feedback;
  • tell the editor if they believe they have identified the authors.

Submitting a review late, submitting a review of poor quality, or involving a third party without the editor's permission is treated as a failure of the reviewer's duty.
