Article Processing Charges
A charge is payable when a manuscript is accepted. It varies with the type of article and the income level of the corresponding author's country. Full waivers are available to authors from low-income countries, to authors in financial hardship, and to students and early-career researchers without funding. Whether a charge is paid or waived has no influence on editorial decisions. See Article Processing Charges.
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are made on scientific merit and are independent of any author's ability to pay publication costs.
