Who can become a reviewer

  • Researchers holding a doctoral degree, or an equivalent qualification, in a field the journal covers
  • Those with a record of peer-reviewed publications in the area
  • Those active in research or professional practice, or with relevant subject expertise

Early-career researchers are welcome to apply.

Reviewer responsibilities

  • Give objective, timely and constructive assessments
  • Evaluate originality, scientific rigour and relevance
  • Keep submissions confidential
  • Disclose conflicts of interest
  • Follow the ethical standards set by COPE

Reviewers advise the editor; they do not make the final decision.

Peer review model

Review is double-blind: reviewers and authors are not told each other's identities.

Ethical standards

Reviewers are expected to follow the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers and to report suspected plagiarism or data manipulation to the editor in confidence.

Benefits

  • Recognition of your contribution to scholarship
  • Early sight of new work in your field
  • A stronger academic and professional profile
  • Possible acknowledgement by the journal, without linking you to any manuscript

The editorial team considers each application and contacts those selected.
